5 Free Summer Events in Launceston

We are now truly on our way into 2017 and enjoying the weather that is summer. Our app is seeing some fantastic new additions, so we've selected a few of of the best free events we most want to see over the next couple of months. Here we go, in order of appearance:

1. Gallery Pejean's 'Editions' Exhibition - Till the 11th of February (Click Here)
A great place to see new contemporary art, and it's predominantly from local Tassie talents! This new exhibition is open till the 11th of February and can't be missed. Easy to find, right in Launceston's centre.

3 ChilliFM Skyfire - 25 January (Click Here)
One of the biggest free events OF THE STATE! ChilliFM returns to Royal Park with an epic party and fireworks display the night before Australia Day. See some great live acts, have fun in the sideshow, and of course, sit back for an awesome fireworks extravaganza! We'll have a Whats On In team there so come say hi because we'll be hosting a cool competition!


3. Music in the Park - Every Sunday of January & on Australia Day 26th January (See in the app)
A series of free concerts in the beautiful surrounds of City Park. There's a selection of different genres like jazz, brass, & classical and activities for the family. What better way to spend a summer day?

4. Yorktown Night Market - 27 January (Click Here)
The night market is back! Try local food and see local retailers out in the open air under the huge tree of Yorktown Square. There's live entertainment and activities for the kids.

5 My Closet Market - 11th February (Click Here)
Tassie's biggest fashion market comes back to St Albie's Hall. Visit to see a selection of pre-loved clothing, shoes, jewellery and accessories.

6 Symphony Under the Stars - 25th February (Click Here)
A summer party under the stars. This is an essential summer event hosted by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra at City Park . It will be featuring the incredible conductor Jessica Cottis who has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Proms, Scottish Opera and many more. Plus 2-time Grammy nominated saxophone soloist Amy Dickson (the first Australian to win a Classic Brit award) will be performing alongside!
